In 2014 we joined the special needs community when our youngest son was diagnosed with Dravet Syndrome. We have been personally traveling this winding road ever since. Like many of you, I’ve experienced the feeling of helplessness and loss that comes with devastating news. Upon hearing of my son’s diagnosis I no longer knew what was previously certain in life. Finance and special needs planning became the singular area I felt I could assert control again. After all, money and math are consistent.

I poured myself into the challenge of providing the best way forward for our family and have spent enumerable hours researching and implementing many of the ideas expressed in this blog. I am not a lawyer or a financial planner by trade. But I am a father who deeply cares about his family and is intensely focused on ensuring we can navigate the choppy waters ahead.
